Margaret Thatcher 1925 - 2013

Baroness Margaret Thatcher, LG, OM, PC, FRS
1925 - 2013
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom 1979 - 1990

Political leaders rarely provoke simply placid reactions from common folk, but in the history of British politics, none has created a more polarizing, more controversial legacy than Baroness Thatcher.

A peacemaker, a warmonger. A transformer, an elitist. The Iron Lady, the Milk Snatcher. She saved Britain's economy, she intentionally ruined lives. The contradictions continue. One half of the country sheds tears, the other half parties in the street.

For all that is said about Britain's first woman Prime Minister this week, her tenacity, her work ethic and her stubborn belief in and dedication to her cause can never be in doubt.
